Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by seamlessly handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, ensuring the procedure flows efficiently and without delay. Assist the clinical team with the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients, keeping patient comfort and safety the top priority. Maintain a highly organized surgical field and rigorously track instrument and sponge counts throughout the procedure to prevent complications and guarantee patient safety. Collaborate with the broader perioperative team to ensure a swift, safe room turnover, keeping the surgical schedule running smoothly for subsequent patients. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
