Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant - Full Time Position (Monday 7am-2pm, Tuesday 7am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-4pm, Thursday 7am-4pm). Salary Range $22-$25/hr based upon experience. More About The Role Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustaining comfort and providing education throughout treatment. Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments, including iTero 3D scanner and digital photography. Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with state dental practice acts. Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping. Prepare the treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols following OSHA & CDC recommendations. Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed. Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow. Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment. If required under state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Access to PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training required. Must protect PHI and maintain data safeguards. Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience in a dental setting. Experience with Dentrix or other dental software. Dental assisting school certification. Physical Requirements Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods sitting and standing. Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times. Availability to attend virtual (or in‑person) training sessions periodically throughout the year. All new hires in dental office positions must undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test. This requirement is not applicable in FL & TN. Who is Heartland Dental?
