Job Title: Marine Electrician 1st Class
Pay Range: $50.00
Per-Diem: $180.00
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience, including 5+ in a shipyard
- Must pass a lifetime background check, preemployment physical and drug screening
Job description:
- Install and secure cable support systems, raceways, and routing structures throughout submarine vessels
- Perform installation of electrical wiring, cabling, and equipment for both nuclear and non-nuclear shipboard systems, including power distribution equipment, communications devices, control systems, electronics, and weapons-related components.
- Set up, inspect, and verify operation of shipboard lighting systems in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Terminate and connect electrical cables to equipment using approved shipbuilding practices, including hardwire terminations and connector assembly methods.
- Prepare electrical systems and equipment for quality assurance reviews, inspections, and testing activities while maintaining accurate records of completed work.
- Assist with the installation, upkeep, and repair of temporary electrical services and shipboard cable systems.
- Develop proficiency in cable repair techniques, including cable vulcanization, splicing, and termination of power, control, and data/signal cables.
- Interpret technical drawings, work packages, and installation instructions to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following established safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Ability to wear required PPE
