Job Description:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the flooring surfaces within the Commissary. This role involves performing a variety of tasks to ensure that floors are clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing.

Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The start time is 7:30PM. The candidate will work 4 to 6 hours per night depending on the size of area being stripped/waxed.

Responsibilities:

• Sweep and scrub floors.
• Strip and Wax VCT and Terrazzo tile.
• Burnish as needed to maintain even shine.
• Must be able to operate various types of equipment associated with stripping and waxing, such as, Floor Scrubber, Side by Side Scrubber and Buffer.
• Must be familiar with SC Johnson chemicals such as Stripper, Premia and Vectra wax.
• Must be familiar with Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals involved.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals.

Requirements:

• Attention to detail a must.
• Needs to be dependable.
• Should have ability to stand for extended periods of time.

• The job is on Military Facility; a Back Ground Investigation will be completed.
