Licensed Veterinary Technician - Neurology

BluePearl Pet Hospital – Veterinary Technician (Neurology Department) Sign-On Bonus: up to $12,000. Moving allowance: optional for qualified candidates. Our 20,000-square-foot hospital features an updated ICU, a brand-new 64‑slice CT, on‑site MRI, full complement of orthopedic surgical equipment, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, internal medicine service with state‑of‑the‑art endoscopy, ultrasound, and complete ancillary radiographic diagnostic capabilities. Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 / hour (starting point; dependent on experience and competency level). Responsibilities Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
