Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct initial evaluations of patients to understand their unique mental health needs and establish customized treatment plans. \n
- Meet regularly with patients to discuss their progress, actively listen to their concerns, and adjust treatment strategies as necessary. \n
- Develop education and support programs that introduce coping mechanisms for stress and trauma, facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions. \n
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social services, and community outreach programs to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. \n
- Document all patient interactions and treatment modifications in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. \n
- Engage in ongoing professional development by completing continuing education courses to maintain your National Certified Counselor certification. \n
- Advocate for patients' needs, guiding them towards the resources required to attain their personal and professional goals. \n
This role primarily serves trauma injury patients who face considerable mental and emotional challenges due to their experiences. Given the prevalence of trauma in our community, you will play a crucial role in helping these individuals regain control over their lives, fostering resilience through tailored interventions and support systems.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field. \n
- A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification. \n
- A minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with trauma-affected patients. \n
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce and other EMR systems is a valuable plus. \n
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and collaboration with healthcare professionals. \n
While the required qualifications set the foundation for success, preferred candidates will have a proven track record in trauma therapy, including specific methodologies that focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based techniques. Experience in community outreach initiatives or multi-disciplinary team collaborations will also be beneficial.
