What You’ll Get to Do

\n

Client has an opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineering Manager to support substation design projects. In this role, you will manage civil and structural engineering efforts for high-voltage substations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through construction. This is a hybrid role with remote work and field/site visits as needed (up to 20% travel).

Key responsibilities include:

\n

• Manage personnel in the civil/structural engineering group

\n

• Manage processes, procedures, and personnel development for the civil/structural engineering group

\n

• Lead planning, design, and execution of substation projects

\n

• Develop civil/structural designs including site development, foundations, and structural steel

\n

• Prepare plans, sections, details, and bills of material

\n

• Perform engineering calculations and develop technical specifications

\n

• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and structural teams, and project managers

\n

• Conduct design reviews and perform quality checks on team deliverables

\n

• Support project schedules, budgets, and overall execution

\n

• Perform site visits, walkdowns, and construction support activities

\n

\n

What You Bring

\n

• Strong experience in civil/structural design for substations or heavy industrial projects

\n

• Knowledge of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation design

\n

• Understanding of surveying techniques (LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS)

\n

• Familiarity with codes, standards, and construction practices

\n

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

\n

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

\n

Technical Tools

\n

AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA, STAAD (or equivalent), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Primavera (CMiC a plus)

Education & Experience Requirements

\n

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)

\n

• 15+ years of relevant experience in utilities, power generation, or industrial environments

\n

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required

\n

Job Location

\n

This is a remote-first role with field travel as needed. Candidates should live within one hour of a commercial airport.

Pay & Benefits

• Mid-$140s to $190 plus Annual salary (based on education and experience)

\n

• Annual bonus potential up to 50% of base salary
