US Defense Programs - Producibility Manufacturing Engineering Lead Working Pattern: Fulltime – Hybrid. Working location: Indianapolis, IN. As the Producibility Lead for US Defense Production Programs, you will report to the Chief Engineer of the T56/Helo/Defense Operations Design Engineering Group and lead component producibility and manufacturing engineering activities for all US Defense Production Programs (T56, Helicopters, Lift Systems, and AE Engines). You will act as Technical Authority, ensuring initial and ongoing production capability to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time objectives (SQCD), resolving technical issues and integrating manufacturing engineering across design, supply chain, and technology teams. Key Responsibilities Build external relationships: Manage, develop and maintain effective relationships within internal and external supply chains, ensuring requirements are understood, maximized, and coached to deliver successful outcomes aligned with Rolls‑Royce commitments. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Operate as an active member of the global Manufacturing Engineering leadership team, supporting cross‑business collaboration, knowledge sharing, skill and process development. Create strategy: Lead the technical input into facility or supply‑chain strategy, ensuring commodity and manufacturing process strategy implications are incorporated in relevant capital plans. Integrate manufacturing technology, digital manufacturing and product introduction activities within the business aligned to Design Engineering teams. Develop capability: Buy‑off production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods on behalf of Defence Design Engineering. Develop talent: Work with Design Engineering to ensure design for manufacture is implemented across component and system design teams. Support Assembly and Test to resolve operational problems and coordinate robust long‑term solutions with design engineering. Product safety: Ensure product safety risks are understood, mitigated, and promoted within the supply chain; Own the manufacturing leg of the Safety Assurance Framework for Defence Mature programs. Quality: Promote zero‑defects culture, deploy right‑first‑time manufacturing, coach the community in RRPS, DMAIC and Systems Engineering tools, and ensure compliance with all policies and standards. Technical Authority: Specify manufacturing engineering and process requirements, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and zero‑harm program expectations. Governance: Deploy mechanisms to achieve Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, resolve issues and risks, support ME load/capacity plans and budgets, and act as FAIR signatory where applicable. Leadership: Develop talent, act as a professional leader for the team, ensuring required competencies and promoting growth. Travel: Expected for this role. Basic Requirements Associate’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years of manufacturing experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of manufacturing experience, or In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of manufacturing experience. Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident. Preferred Qualifications Project Management experience in planning, controlling budgets, and driving schedules. Domain knowledge commensurate with focus and size of package. Understanding of product change control (PCB, DDRAM) and product introduction lifecycle management. Engineering and technical competence enabling decision making commensurate with package size. Experience applying systems approach or equivalent (Robust Design lead, Black Belt, etc.). Experience leading an engineering team. What We Offer Competitive salary: $115,443 – $187,595 annually. Bonus and discretionary bonus plan.
