Clinical Nurse Coordinator Behavioral Health Unit

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Unit, your voice influences patient care and shapes decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Job Summary The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care. Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Support the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient-care needs and productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree. Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Full-time night position. At least 1 year of behavioral health experience.
