Finance Associate

An AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate to join its leveraged finance group in Dallas. The practice advises leading financial institutions, private equity sponsors, direct lenders, and private credit funds across the full capital structure on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions. About the Role The role is for a mid- to senior-level associate in the leveraged finance group, working on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions and running deals from due diligence through closing, with significant deal management responsibility and direct client interaction. Responsibilities Leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, dividend recapitalizations, and refinancings First lien, unitranche, second lien, mezzanine, and subordinated loan transactions Private credit and direct lending structures, including stretch senior, non-traditional preferred stock financings, and equity co-investments Asset-based lending and middle market transactions Running deals from due diligence through closing, with significant deal management responsibility and direct client interaction Qualifications JD from an accredited US law school; strong academic credentials Eligibility to practice law in the State of Texas Preferred class years 2018–2023 Required Skills 3–8 years of leveraged finance experience at a peer law firm Substantive experience representing lenders, sponsors, or borrowers in complex finance transactions Preferred Skills Experience with leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, dividend recapitalizations, and refinancings Experience with first lien, unitranche, second lien, mezzanine, and subordinated loan transactions Experience with private credit and direct lending structures, including stretch senior, non-traditional preferred stock financings, and equity co-investments Experience with asset-based lending and middle market transactions Experience running deals from due diligence through closing, with significant deal management responsibility and direct client interaction Pay range and compensation package Compensation $260,000–$420,000, commensurate with class year and experience.
