Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for verifying and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring quality and productivity standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Complete receipt verification for purchasing and customer-supplied materials.
• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Receive and process defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Coordinate proper storage of materials.
• Arrange appropriate packaging for shipping.
• Administrate computerized Inventory System.
• Generate shipping documentation.
• Make arrangements for pickup by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order.
• Monitor freezer temperatures and conduct testing as needed.
• Send material receipt notifications to customers.
• Update supplier performance records.
• Operate forklifts and hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper areas.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Perform any other function or responsibility as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, specifically in shipping and receiving.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read and understand complex work instructions.
• Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Team-oriented.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to 75 lbs, location dependent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience with inventory control, labeling, packaging, and material handling.

The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $48000.00/yr.
