The nurse cares for patients in labor and those giving birth, including both vaginal and Cesarean-section deliveries. The role also includes caring for newborns, postpartum patients, and patients with gynecological conditions. The nurse interacts with adult patients on an inter-disciplinary level. Effective interaction with individuals must be tailored to their intellectual level and physical ability.
