Position Overview

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position will play an important role in the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial information while supporting both day-to-day accounting activities and key financial processes.

The Senior Accountant will have responsibility across month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, project profitability analysis, and audit support. This role is well suited for an experienced accountant who is comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and partnering with others throughout the organization in a fast-paced environment.

This is primarily an on-site position , with occasional hybrid work possible.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and submit customer invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer requirements and contractual terms.

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including account analysis, accruals, adjustments, and closing entries.

• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries and supporting documentation.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly financial statements and management reporting.

• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audits and financial reviews, working with external auditors and other stakeholders as needed.

• Oversee accounts receivable management and collections, including monitoring aging, resolving account issues, and supporting cash-flow objectives.

• Manage and monitor time and expense reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and appropriate accounting treatment.

• Perform project profitability analysis and reporting, including analysis of project costs, revenue, margins, and variances.

• Perform general accounting activities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

• Participate in accounting system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements, including testing, data validation, and user support.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.

• Advanced technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with experience manipulating worksheet files, spreadsheets, and databases, including the use of various customer software programs.

• Strong prioritization, time-management, and organizational skills with the ability to meet business needs and strict deadlines.

• Proven attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.

• Professionalism and strong oral and written communication skills.

• Integrity and a commitment to ethical financial practices.

• Availability during core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

• Ability to work primarily on-site to provide in-person employee and team support; occasional hybrid work may be possible.

• Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license and insurance.

• Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and driving record check.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.

• Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.

• Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.

• Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
