The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees and includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, Rockville General, a 102‑bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The region serves a population of 300,000 people across 19 towns. Position Summary Under the direction of a Workflow Coordinator, Manager/Supervisor, and/or Team Leader, the incumbent performs or assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. The role includes independent judgment, knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and technical proficiency with equipment. Responsibilities may extend to a designated area or procedure as required. Competencies Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Bilingual Spanish skills desirable (not required). Advanced math skills in physics for understanding and setting radiologic exposure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards, protocols, and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut. Exhibits proficiency in conducting routine radiographic procedures and fluoroscopic exams including gastrointestinal studies, ERCPs, arthrography, hysterosalpingography, urography, and portable X‑ray equipment including C‑arm procedures. Provides proper clinical patient care while performing diagnostic procedures. Provides careful critique and assessment of image quality. Ensures accuracy in computer documentation. Mentors students in the clinical and ethical aspects of the radiologic technologist profession. Maintains stock levels and personal protective equipment of assigned stations. Maintains constant awareness of infection‑control standards. Collaborates to accomplish tasks as a member of the team. Performs miscellaneous duties as may be required. Qualifications Education/Certification High School diploma or GED equivalent. Pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board and obtain a State of Connecticut license to practice radiographic technical procedures within 3 months of graduation. Obtain mandatory continued educational units (CEUs) on an ongoing basis to maintain state licensure currency. Have Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment with Hartford HealthCare. Experience Fully knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least two modalities. Complete working knowledge of physics principles, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique, and radiation protection as related to radiology practice.
