Banking and Finance Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Banking and Finance Associate for its Grand Rapids, MI office. The role involves working on complex lending transactions with both traditional and non‑traditional credit providers, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment. Duties Represent banks and other lenders in commercial finance transactions. Draft and negotiate loan agreements and collateral documents. Conduct due diligence on property, collateral, and entities. Engage in commercial and industrial asset‑based finance. Participate in commercial real estate and construction lending. Requirements 3-7 years of experience in commercial finance transactions. Experience with commercial/industrial, real estate, and construction financing. Licensed in Michigan or eligible for admission by examination or waiver. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Michigan. Skills Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Excellent due diligence capabilities. Ability to manage fast‑moving and varied matters.
