Instructional Assistant

Description Seeking Instructional Assistants, working in Neshamiy Public School District. Interviewing for fall 2026, position starts 08/03/2026. Starting at $21/hour up to $24.50/hour pending higher education and experience in the field or RBT certification. Being an Instructional Assistant at Devereux has its advantages. Responsibilities Support and maintain classroom policies and procedures, while assisting students by modeling appropriate behavior, providing emotional support, and adopting a patient and friendly attitude. Assist in the implementation of students’ individualized education program (IEP) and positive behavior support plan (PBSP) as directed by the teacher. Assist with student personal needs, when required, including medical needs in conjunction with the school-based health or nursing staff. Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned. Understand team goals and own role within the team. Support team decisions and cooperate with others within and outside the team. Utilize crisis physical intervention techniques under the direction of the teacher and as appropriate to the setting and the degree of threat to the safety of the student and others. Schedule M-F: 8-4pm. This position is aligned with the school calendar and is a full-time role covering a 10-month period and opportunities for extended school year program in summer break. At least one year of experience in an educational setting working required. Experience with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations preferred.
