Substation Project ManagerWe are looking for a talented Substation Project Manager who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the construction and associated project management of electric utility construction projects. The Project Manager acts as the single point of management responsibility from project pre-planning, to total construction administration services, participating in the development of processes, procedures, and systems to deliver projects to our customers on schedule and within budget.What You'll DoLead the day-to-day oversight, management and administration of the company's safety management systemWork with the project team to oversee construction activity to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and scheduleInterface with owner/client, and on-site construction crews as required to ensure project safety, quality, project schedule and other milestones are metLearn and apply MJE Project Management standards and best practices to all aspects of workTrack, report and manage the work via the MJE Project Controls Reporting System (PCRS)Prepare electrical utility construction proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offsExpected to forecast and report on project profitability while managing project budgetCoordinate all aspects of job set up to incorporate MJE standards regarding safety, scheduling, document control plan, cost codes, job cost spread, material/tooling plan, billing, etc.Work with the project team to plan and evaluate performance adjustments needed to stay within budget and on schedule for project completionInterface with client/owner representative, IBEW union members and subcontractorsContinuously exercise leadership capabilities in managing field employees and utility construction work while following company and contract requirementsProvide correspondence and present project expectations and status to field employees and clients in a group settingWork with purchasing on material orders and required submittalsProvide weekly updates on project to senior management as neededQuote change orders from drawing changes, RFI's and customer requests and process accordingly.Work with field leadership to ensure the project has adequate resources to maintain schedule, budget and exceed safety expectationsMonitor and approve weekly payroll, equipment and tool reportingManage and oversee all subcontractorsReview all job costs invoices and transactions to facilitate timely billingRegional travel with overnight stays is requiredWhat You'll BringAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesAbility to anticipate and meet internal customer needsProven communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsProven leadership capabilities in a management roleAbility to present to groups of 20-40 individualsKnowledge of utility construction practicesExperience managing project financialsExtensive computer skills including familiarity with Access, Excel, and OutlookStrong managerial/leadership skillsAbility to provide oversight to numerous projects throughout a large geographic areaBS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred3-5 years of Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related experience in the utility construction industryExperience with union jurisdiction and labor agreementsElectrical utility construction (distribution, substation, transmission line) expertise is preferredWhat You'll Get401(k) with company match (Traditional & Roth)Paid Holidays and PTOMedical, Dental, and VisionFlexible Spending AccountsHealth Savings AccountAccident InsuranceHospital Indemnity InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceLifelock Identity Theft ProtectionEmployee DiscountsShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityFor more benefit details click here!
