Job Summary

Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Surgical First Assist to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical assistance during procedures including bariatrics, orthopedic, and thoracic surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgeons and operating room staff to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain sterile technique and adherence to OR protocols.
• Perform on-call duties, including weekends, as part of the OR team.
• Document operative and clinical information accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient handoff and communication with interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications

• Valid DC State License and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an OR setting; previous travel experience preferred.
• Proficient in surgical first assist tasks and various surgical cases such as robotics and trauma.
• Experience with acute inpatient and outpatient OR settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills essential for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to handle high-stress environments and adapt to changing situations.
