Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Patient Service Rep performs a variety of support functions for a department and/or program. Duties may include all or part of the following: Greeting, instructing, directing patients and visitors; scheduling, registering, and obtaining preauthorization for treatment from insurance, Medicare, or other agencies for patients; serving as liaison between patient and medical support staff; functioning as cashier, receptionist, and referral clerk as well as maintaining records and completing data entry; and monitoring office services and supplies. Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
- Previous clerical, administrative, healthcare, or customer service experience, or equivalent education, is required.
