Revenue Cycle Director

We are looking for an experienced Revenue Cycle Director Consultant to provide leadership and stability for a healthcare revenue cycle function in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role can be remote. This Long-term Contract position will guide managers across core billing operations, strengthen performance standards, and improve visibility into key financial outcomes. The role is well suited for a hands-on consultant who can balance operational oversight with process enhancement in a fast-moving healthcare environment.Responsibilities:• Direct and support three revenue cycle managers responsible for billing activity, claim submission, pre-bill workflows, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and denial resolution.• Provide steady operational leadership during a leadership gap while maintaining service levels and prioritizing critical revenue cycle work.• Oversee issue escalation across the revenue cycle function and make timely decisions to keep workstreams moving efficiently.• Evaluate current team capabilities, identify performance gaps, and implement clear operating expectations and measurable standards.• Partner with leadership to improve reporting, benchmarking, and insight into revenue cycle performance indicators.• Lead initiatives that strengthen workflows, increase efficiency, and encourage effective use of technology across the department.• Support the implementation of a new billing platform, including operational readiness, workflow alignment, and adoption across affected teams.• Mentor managers to build confidence, accountability, and independence in leading daily operations.• Recommend and execute process improvements that enhance billing accuracy, reduce denials, and improve overall collections performance.
