About the Job MedStar Health is looking for aSenior Behavioral Health Specialist.This role provides direct crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations in the Emergency Department across all Medstar facilities. The Behavioral Health Specialist-II serves as a senior clinical specialist responsible for advanced assessments, complex case coordination, and quality assurance. Leads initiatives that enhance service delivery and documentation standards across multiple sites. Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and evaluations to determineappropriate patientdisposition and level-of-care recommendations. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and referrals by collaborating with physicians, nurses, inpatient psychiatric units, community providers, and insurance companies. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory, legal, and organizational standards.. Serve as a clinical resource by providing consultation, training, and support to staff while promoting consistency in assessment and documentation practices. Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on workflow efficiency, documentation integrity, compliance, and patient care outcomes across multiple hospital sites. Qualifications Master'sdegree in psychology. (Required) 3-4 yearsAdvancedassessment,documentation, andworkflowimprovementleadership.
