About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and modernize enterprise .NET applications running on AWS. You'll own medium and large features end to end, from the first design conversation through the pipeline that deploys them, and you'll often be the person teammates turn to when an architecture decision needs a second opinion.

You'll be joining a cloud services firm that helps commercial and public sector organizations move legacy systems onto modern, cloud-native architectures. The role sits within their application modernization practice, working alongside architects and project managers on client engagements where the code has to stay maintainable long after the project wraps.

If you like untangling a monolith as much as you like shipping something new, this role gives you plenty of both.

What You'll Do

• Design and architect cloud-based .NET applications on AWS, from service boundaries to storage and database choices
• Own features across the full lifecycle: design, build, testing, deployment, and support
• Refactor existing applications so they perform better and are easier to maintain
• Investigate and fix defects in live systems
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple stacks, and handle branching, pull requests, and release builds
• Evaluate new cloud services and patterns, then recommend what the team should adopt next
• Work in two-week sprints with daily stand-ups, peer code reviews, backlog grooming, and an end-of-sprint demo
• Step in as technical lead on projects when needed, including reviewing design docs and running technical reviews
• Write documentation the next engineer will actually find useful

Qualifications

Core Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Deep .NET experience, including designing complex, multi-layer enterprise applications built from multiple services
• Strong command of AWS cloud architecture and cloud-native design across compute, storage, and databases
• Hands-on experience with at least one infrastructure as code platform (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or similar)
• Experience with at least one SQL or NoSQL database platform
• Solid grounding in systems design, requirements analysis, data structures, and algorithms
• Working knowledge of information security best practices
• Familiarity with SDLC models and application lifecycle management
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related field
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate, and Solutions Architect Associate

Nice to Have

• Experience turning business requirements into technical solutions through user story mapping
• Product analytics and telemetry (CloudWatch, Application Insights) used to guide development decisions
• Feature flags and A/B testing in cloud applications
• Comfort working directly with product managers and UX designers, including discovery sessions and feasibility assessments
• A point of view on roadmap planning and how to prioritize technical debt
