Salary Range $28.43 Job Requisition ID 138368WD Overview Provide superior clinical and administrative support to patients and clinicians in a fast paced outpatient clinic. Under limited supervision and exercising initiative, assist with the coordination of outpatient clinical activities of the team. This position is in the Digestive Diseases clinic located at 40 Temple St. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrated proficiency with medical assisting standards and principles. Proven ability with operational processes in a medical setting (i.e. clinical data collection, phlebotomy, and education). 2. Demonstrated and proven ability in a high-volume physician practice. 3. Demonstrated ability to generate trusting and supportive relationships with patients, families, staff and faculty. 4. Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology. 5. Demonstrated record of attendance and reliability. Preferred Skills and Abilities Knowledge and experience with EPIC medical record system. Principal Responsibilities 1. Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment. 2. Prepares patients for examinations. Provides routine information related to medical treatments and procedures. 3. Measures and records vital signs. Collects specimens. Prepares examining rooms. Selects and lays out medical supplies. 4. Maintains medical equipment. Records and reports patient information. Retrieves laboratory test results and patient files. 5. Escorts patients and visitors. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. 6. Performs clerical functions related to medical activities. Required Education and Experience Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Required License(s) or Certification(s) Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Registry of Medical Assistants (or ability to get certification/registration within 90 days of employment).
