The successful applicant for this position is responsible for participating in the prosecution of criminal violations of law in Schoharie County by investigating, preparing, and presenting violations, misdemeanors and/or felony cases in criminal court. It is expected that the successful applicant will be accorded prosecutorial leeway allowing for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of their work, in coordination with the District Attorney. Work Hours : Full-time Salary : $90,000 – $120,000/year based upon experience. Location : Schoharie County District Attorney’s Office, 157 Steadman Way, Howes Cave, New York, 12092. Requirements : Must be a United States citizen in accordance with Public Officers Law. Must be admitted and in good standing to practice law in the State of New York with at least one or more years of recent experience in criminal law practice in New York State. Standard research and writing skills, oral presentations, argument, and motions practice are necessary. Grand jury practice and experience evaluating felony cases are preferred.
