About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Wound Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days (4/10) Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Wound Care Certified (WCC), Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) preferred Must-Have: CWON certification Description: Unit focuses on wound care management for patients. The nurse will manage and coordinate patient care, including wound management, in accordance with established standards and defined timelines. Responsibilities include documentation and billing, coordination of supplies upon discharge, identification, assessment, and prevention of skin issues. Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for ongoing education and patient care. Position requires management of various wound types, including ostomies, pressure ulcers, and skin conditions resulting from various medical procedures and traumas. Daily patient load may vary between 5 to 15, depending on consults and specific patient needs. No weekend or holiday requirements for this position. No call or standby requirements are expected. Floating to other facilities may be necessary, with advance notice provided. Experience in using specific wound vacs is beneficial. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and the maintenance of skin and tissue integrity. Experience in wound management and care standards is essential for success in this position.
