Role Name: Mainframe Application Support Engineer
Location: Toronto 4 days a week on site F2F interview might be required
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Support Engineer to provide production support, incident management, and application maintenance for critical mainframe-based business applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies involving IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and CICS, troubleshooting production issues, ensuring application stability, and driving continuous service improvements.
The role requires close collaboration with development, infrastructure, business, and operations teams to support mission-critical applications while maintaining agreed service levels.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Incident Management
- Provide L2/L3 support for mainframe applications in production environments.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve production incidents within SLA timelines.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Support critical business events, release deployments, and production changes.
Application Maintenance
- Analyze application failures and identify corrective actions.
- Coordinate with development teams for defect fixes and enhancements.
- Validate fixes and support deployment activities.
- Ensure application availability, reliability, and performance.
