Details Cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population located at the Heart Hospital 55-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:30-07:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week Rotating weekend coverage required as needed Floating required to like units within scope based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided No on-call requirements Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active NM or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start) Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (CPI preferred) 1-2 years of RN experience required, with cardiovascular experience specifically needed Epic charting experience preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring Skilled in cardiac drip management (titration preferred), heparin protocols, and IV therapy/phlebotomy Experience with central line and PICC line care preferred Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care preferred Sheath removal experience preferred Additional Information Provide care for cardiac stepdown patients including those post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery Manage respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management Perform wound care/wound vac management and IV insulin protocol administration as needed Scrubs of any color accepted, logos not permitted First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler Travel pairs or groups are not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-768600.
