How you'll contribute A Medical Technologist who excels in this role: Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states. Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. Essential Functions Additional Information Patient Populations Served: Does not directly treat or care for patients. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present. Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, computer/data entry, and equipment handling; occasional standing, walking, and light lifting. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex. What we’re looking for Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred (licensure must reflect education requirements). Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
