Gate Guard - Wed. to Sun. Part - Time

 

SUMMARY:

Part-Time Gate Guard Position working Wed. through Sun.

A Gate Guard is stationed at the gate at an enclosed area such of the Office building/ Warehouse. Gate Guard is to act as security by verifying visitors and keeping a guest log of incoming and outgoing employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Guard the entrance to the facility and grounds, warehouse, or other property to control traffic to and from buildings and grounds.
• Inspect inbound and outbound trailers and seals to prevent unauthorized removal of product or property.
• Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
• Gate Log employees Record Time In, Out and reason = leaving, lunch, bank, Lowes, etc.
• If the Guard needs to step away to use the facilities always go out and check the gate for any vehicle that might be waiting.
• Guard must check all Visitors ID and Company name. Visitors must be directed to the front office area to park. The manager/supervisor must be contacted to verify the appointment to be on premises.
• If a visitor fails to park in the designated front office area and drives around the back building notify Mari Tapia/Plant Manager immediately and or HR.
• Upon employee shift start observing parking area spaces, observe break time employees going to vehicles or picnic area, shift change observes employees leaving to parking area.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager or supervisor.
• Cooperation to perform duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Gate Guard experience - minimum less than one year.
• Basic reading and comprehension of forms.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Other duties as assigned.

Back, Upper and Lower Extremities

• Must use both legs to be able to bend and stoop.
• Must be able to direct driver or employee to parking areas.

Eyes

• Must be able to see to record tag information, license plates.

Skills:

• Record legible time in gate, time out gate.
• Bilingual

ENIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:

• Exposed to all season weather working in small Guard building.
• Ambient air temperature.
