Healthcare Compliance Consultant

Universal Healthcare Consulting is looking for an experienced healthcare professional to join our team as a Risk Manager / QA Specialist / Compliance Consultant . This position works directly with ambulatory surgery centers and office-based surgical practices to help facilities maintain regulatory compliance, prepare for accreditation surveys, strengthen quality improvement programs, and identify and mitigate potential areas of risk. We are especially interested in candidates with: Experience working in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), Office-Based Surgery (OBS), or similar procedural setting Knowledge of healthcare accreditation and regulatory compliance Experience with one or more accrediting organizations, such as AAAHC, The Joint Commission, or QUAD A Experience with Quality Assurance, QAPI, Performance Improvement, or Risk Management Familiarity with ASC policies, credentialing, infection prevention, medication management, patient safety, and regulatory requirements Experience preparing for or participating in accreditation, CMS, or state surveys Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple facilities, deadlines, and regulatory requirements simultaneously Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative consulting team Responsibilities may include: Serving as an ongoing compliance and risk management resource for assigned healthcare facilities Conducting compliance reviews and assisting facilities with survey readiness Reviewing Quality Assurance and QAPI activities, incidents, patient complaints, clinical statistics, and performance trends Assisting clients with development and implementation of corrective action plans and quality improvement studies Reviewing policies, procedures, logs, personnel documentation, credentialing files, and other compliance records Supporting Governing Body and Quality Assurance activities Monitoring changes in accreditation and regulatory requirements and helping clients implement necessary changes Providing education and guidance to administrators and clinical staff Assisting facilities before, during, and following accreditation and regulatory surveys Conducting onsite assessments and mock surveys, as applicable Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center is strongly preferred . Experience working with or surveying on behalf of an accrediting organization is highly desirable. Clinical experience as an RN, ASC Administrator, Director of Nursing, Quality/Compliance Coordinator, Infection Preventionist, or similar healthcare professional is a plus. The ideal candidate is someone who understands that compliance is more than checking boxes.
