Maintenance Laborer

Job Requirements

Starting Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 hourly

Keep our housing properties in top shape! From repairs and equipment upkeep to lawn care and snow removal, you'll help ensure safe, clean, and comfortable spaces for our residents-all year round.

Day Shift Available:

Monday-Friday

8:30am - 5:00pm

What does a Maintenance Laborer do?

• Performs daily work orders as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Provides regular janitorial services for Rental Housing property and other properties under the jurisdiction of the Rental Housing Program.
• Performs grounds maintenance work including but not limited to: grass cutting, grass trimming, flower and shrub planting, weeding and other landscaping activities.
• Performs light electrical, plumbing and carpentry work.
• Provides snow and ice removal including, but not limited to: plowing, snow blowing, ice-chipping, shoveling and spreading salt and ice melt.
• Assists in the review and implementation of all mechanical specifications and operational manuals to ensure regularly scheduled maintenance requirements are met.

Work Experience

To be successful as a Maintenance Laborer, you'll need:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Demonstrated knowledge in basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid New York State Driver's license.
• Must have experience operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters and other power equipment.
• Experience operating a snow plow and snow blower required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
