Mathematics Adjunct Instructor

We are accepting applications for the Mathematics Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool. These positions are part-time, as-needed faculty roles with flexible hours and no tenure rights. Instructors will teach at the Valencia or Canyon Country campuses or other college locations and assist a diverse student body in achieving educational goals across transfer, general education, vocational, and occupational programs. Service Assume leadership roles both within the department and the institution. Commit to meeting student, department, college, and community needs. Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources. Participate in department, division, college committees and governance activities. Engage in curriculum and program development. Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community. Participate in ongoing professional development. Teaching Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction. Effectively engage and facilitate authentic learning for students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Adapt teaching pedagogy to individual and class needs, and self-reflect based on evidence‑based assessment of student learning. Integrate new technologies into the learning process, including interactive technologies for on‑campus and online courses. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Qualifications Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Mathematics. OR Master’s degree in mathematics or applied mathematics. OR Bachelor’s degree in the above fields and a Master’s in statistics, physics, or mathematics education. OR equivalency: an official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master’s degree from an accredited institution and transcripts documenting at least 24 semester units at upper‑division and graduate level, with a minimum of 12 graduate‑level units. Salary Adjunct salary rate starts at $89.24 per hour.
