Requisition No: 876091 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: OPS LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - 64852708 Responsibilities Administer immunizations to the community and serve as backup in TB, refugee and Ryan White clinics, performing laboratory services as needed. Administer immunizations in a busy clinic setting, working with a diverse client population. Obtain basic medical history from clients or guardians, including allergies. Receive and upload incoming clinical/immunization records to HMS and transfer them into Florida Shots. Accurately enter required information into Florida Shots, selecting appropriate immunization program components (VFC, VFA, Travel, Private Pay, Refugee). Manage vaccine inventory per Florida Department of Health guidelines; order, receive, and maintain immunization inventories for all County Health Department programs. Ensure vaccine efficiency through proper storage, handling, and temperature monitoring; submit readings into FL Shots through Verilert. Observe and report adverse reactions via the VAERS system. Assist with backup for other clinic services, including lab specimen collection, specimen handling, fingerstick hemoglobin and blood sugar screenings, venipuncture, urine specimen testing, and operation of routine laboratory equipment. Prepare lab specimens for shipment and transportation; clean and stock exam rooms and instruments. Assist School Health Nurse with outreach immunization programs. Vehicle and a valid Florida driver’s license are required. Complete all mandatory or assigned training within the required time frame, including staff meetings; submit People First time sheet and work activity reports (EARs) on time. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to give injections. Knowledge of HIPAA and experience maintaining client confidentiality. Qualifications Must have a current Florida State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Willingness to accept offered salary and to physically attend the office to perform duties. Willingness to perform emergency duty during natural disasters. Preferred: EHR (Electronic Health Record) experience.
