Material Handler

Material Handling SupervisorApex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Material Handling Supervisor for our client based out of Macungie, PA.This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first-shift Monday–Friday schedule.Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate daily material handling operations to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely movement of materials throughout the facility.Oversee inventory control, receiving, storage, shipping, material replenishment, and production support activities.Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer requirements while maintaining inventory accuracy.Supervise and develop a team of material handling associates through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.Establish daily priorities and allocate resources to meet operational objectives.Monitor operational metrics and utilize data to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost performance.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Identify operational risks and proactively resolve issues before they impact production or customer commitments.Maintain effective communication across departments, shifts, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and execution of priorities.Implement and sustain standardized processes and best practices across material handling operations.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow optimization, efficiency gains, and waste reduction.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.Experience:2+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain supervision.Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or production environment.Experience managing receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material flow operations.Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management, and production support activities.Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Experience utilizing operational metrics and KPI reporting to drive improvements.Strong focus on safety, quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.Nice to Have:Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Logistics, or continuous improvement methodologies.Experience with ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.Experience supporting multi-shift operations.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
