Job DescriptionNevada Donor Network is growing and adding an in house Radiologic Technologist to support our Donor Care Unit in Las Vegas\nThe Full-Time CT / Portable X-Ray / Echo Radiologic Technologist provides imaging support for the Donor Care Unit (DCU).\nThis role performs CT imaging (with and without IV contrast), portable diagnostic radiography (X-ray), and echocardiography studies in a high-acuity clinical environment, ensuring timely image acquisition, patient safety, and accurate documentation to support donor evaluation and organ placement decisions.\nThe technologist will work 40 hours per week, and must maintain flexibility to support operational needs, including on-call as needed, coverage during staff PTO and emergent donor cases\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS \nSpecific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nCT Imaging (With and Without Contrast)\n\n Perform CT examinations including non-contrast and contrast-enhanced studies as ordered/approved by the clinical team.\n Confirm order appropriateness, patient identification, and required safety screening (contrast allergy history when applicable, renal function parameters per protocol, pregnancy screening if applicable).\n Establish IV access and administer IV contrast when within scope, competency, and certification, including accurate documentation of contrast agent, dose, site assessment, and patient tolerance.\n Monitor for and respond to contrast reactions or changes in clinical status; activate emergency response and collaborate with the on-site clinical team.\n Ensure correct scan parameters, dose optimization, and image quality; repeat imaging only when clinically necessary and consistent with ALARA principles.\n\nPortable Diagnostic Radiography (X-Ray)\n\n Perform portable X-ray examinations within the DCU, including ICU-level positioning and imaging of patients with lines/tubes/devices.\n Ensure proper technique, positioning, and image quality while maintaining patient safety and infection prevention standards.\n Confirm and document exam completion, image adequacy, and any notable limitations or challenges encountered.\n\nOther Requirements: \n\n\n Ability to independently perform portable radiography and CT imaging in a high-acuity or critical care setting following established protocols and physician orders.\n Competency in IV contrast administration and recognition/response to contrast reactions.\n Ability to perform bedside/portable imaging in ICU-level environments with multiple lines, tubes, and life-sustaining equipment.\n Strong understanding of radiation safety principles (ALARA) and CT dose optimization.\n\nEchocardiography\n\n Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with physician orders and donor evaluation protocols.\n Obtain high-quality cardiac ultrasound images, measurements, and Doppler assessments to support organ donor evaluation and transplant decision-making.\n Recognize and document significant cardiac findings, technical limitations, and image quality concerns; promptly communicate urgent findings to the clinical team.\n Ensure accurate patient identification, exam documentation, image labeling, and timely transfer of studies for physician interpretation.\n Maintain competency in portable bedside echocardiography within a critical care environment, including management of ICU equipment, lines, and monitoring devices during imaging procedures.\n\n\nEducation: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.\nExperience: Minimum of 1-3 years medical experience preferred.\nComputer Skills: Knowledge in MS office, Electronic Medical Records\nCertificates & Licenses: ARRT(R) required, ARRT(CT) preferred. Nevada state radiologic licensure (or eligibility to obtain/maintain required Nevada licensure/permits per applicable regulations). RDCS or RCS adult TTE competency or experience preferred.\n
