Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with scrub abilities for a 13-week travel assignment requiring an active Idaho or compact RN license and on-call availability for emergency surgical services.

Details

• Operating room setting serving neonate through geriatric patient populations
• Covers pre-operative, intra-operative, PACU, and post-operative areas
• Day shift, Monday through Thursday, 9-hour shifts at 36 hrs/week
• On-call availability required for emergency surgical services on a routine scheduled basis

Requirements

• Active Idaho or compact state RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATT
• Minimum 1 year of surgical/OR experience required; multiple years preferred
• Ability to perform both circulating RN and scrub RN duties
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates, Diploma, or BSN)
• Basic computer skills, including navigation of Windows-based programs

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 120 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position — local candidates are not accepted
• Responsibilities include patient preparation, intra-operative care, surgical counts, specimen management, and PACU handoff reporting
• Collaborates continuously with the surgeon and anesthesia provider throughout all perioperative phases
• Performs patient and family education related to discharge planning and pain management throughout the perioperative experience
• Participates in instrument processing, sterilization, and biological monitoring as needed
• Participates in performance improvement activities and supports surgical equipment maintenance and inventory
