CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist $20-24/hr

Shift: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

Pay rate: $20 - 24/HR depending on experience

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as a CNC machinist in a small, family-owned machine shop, contributing to precision components for a variety of industries. You will primarily focus on mill machine setup while also operating both mills and lathes, and may assist with basic programming using G and M codes. You will work closely with a small team on the shop floor and play a key role in ensuring high-quality, accurate machining work.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC mill machines for production, including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and verifying programs before running parts.
• Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components according to specifications and engineering drawings.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements, making adjustments as needed.
• Assist with CNC programming tasks, including working with G and M codes to edit or adjust programs when required.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting on machines and equipment to maintain smooth operation.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, and document results as needed.
• Collaborate closely with a small shop-floor team to coordinate work, prioritize jobs, and maintain efficient workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop procedures for safe and efficient operation.
• Participate in the interview and onboarding process by engaging with team members to ensure a strong mutual fit with the small team environment.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience operating CNC mills.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes.
• Proficiency in setting up CNC mill machines, including tooling and fixturing.
• Experience working as a CNC operator or CNC machinist.
• Ability to read and work with G and M codes for CNC programming and adjustments.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical machining processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment on a shop floor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montoursville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
