Insurance Claims Specialist

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $21.01 - $24.69 / hour
Summary
Responsible for providing clerical support to the Central Business Office, Lee Physician Group and Home Health departments. Includes printing patient account information and preparing medical record/ appeal packets and refund checks to be mailed to the insurance companies. Performs document research and review to accurately identify the document type to follow the designated workflow. Responsible for daily UB04 and 1500 sorting, distributing, and mailing to appropriate insurance companies and mailing patient letters.

Qualifications and Skills
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficiency in examining documents for accuracy and completeness.
Strong attention to detail, organization and time management.
Strong communication and teamwork but also work independently.
Minimum 1-2 years medical/ financial healthcare or business office experience.
Must have computer experience and the ability to type 30 words per minute.
Working knowledge of excel desired.
