Maintenance Technician

The Experienced Maintenance Technician is entrusted with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support equipment. This role demands advanced technical proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems to ensure optimum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures.
• Perform troubleshooting of production equipment, automation systems, PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and industrial controls.
• Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to established schedules.
• Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
• Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, and safety.
• Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air systems, plumbing, and building infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain utility systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
• Complete maintenance work orders and documentation within the CMMS system.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable codes.
• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and training programs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Apprentices.
• Assist in developing maintenance procedures and best practices.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent military experience preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V preferred.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting preferred.
• Mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting.
• Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems maintenance.
• PLC, HMI, VFD, and industrial automation troubleshooting.
• CMMS software experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Work Environment

The role is situated in a modern state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, Arizona. The environment is industrial with exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and there may be occasional emergency responses outside normal working hours. The position requires physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces and at heights. The schedule runs from Monday to Thursday, 5 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional mandatory Fridays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
