Commercial Lines Account Manager

Full-time | Hybrid | South Florida

Ivy Risk is looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager who knows how to own complex accounts, keep every moving piece moving, and catch what others miss.

We are a boutique commercial insurance and risk strategy firm serving commercial real estate owners and developers. We combine big-broker capabilities with boutique advocacy, helping clients structure their risk strategically, while navigating the process in a way that can make it (yes) enjoyable.

Our goal is not to sell more insurance. It's actually quite the opposite.

What you’ll own

• Day-to-day management of complex commercial accounts.
• Renewal timelines, exposure collection, underwriting submissions and carrier correspondence.
• Quote analysis, proposals, binders, policies, endorsements, audits and certificates.
• Clear, thoughtful communication with clients, underwriters, and broker partners.
• Policy reviews for both new and placed business, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to strengthen the overall risk program.
• Accurate documentation and account management within our systems.
• Improving processes and forward-thinking optimization. 

This is a client-service and account-execution role, not a production position. You will work directly with Lisa Holt, founder of Ivy Risk, and play a meaningful role in how the company serves its clients and continues to grow. Participation in prospect/client meetings, industry-specific events, and relationship-building activity will largely depend on you and your level of interest in those opportunities.

You’re probably a strong fit if you have

• At least five years of commercial-lines account management experience.
• An active Florida 2-20 license.
• Experience with commercial real estate, complex property accounts, construction or Florida coastal risks (not required but a bonus!).
• Experience with alternative risk strategies and financing (another unrequired bonus!)
• Strong working knowledge of property, general liability, umbrella, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, and flood.
• Experience managing a full marketing process and renewal cycle from beginning to end.
• The ability to read a policy, question something that does not look right, and explain coverage clearly.
• Strong writing, organization, and follow-through.
• Experience with Applied Epic or another agency management system.
• The confidence to work independently, and the judgment to know when to escalate.

Most importantly, you take ownership. You remember the unanswered questions and follow up before someone has to ask. You are equally comfortable thinking through a complicated coverage issue and handling the ordinary details required to finish the job properly.

This role will probably appeal to someone who has spent time on large accounts and thought, more than once, that there has to be a better way.

This is a hybrid role based in South Florida. We are prepared to pay well for someone who brings the experience, judgment, and ownership the role requires.
