Role Description The Automotive General Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Sterling, KS, responsible for overseeing all dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, and customer experience. This role manages department leaders, sets performance goals, and ensures profitability through effective inventory management, pricing strategies, and expense control. The General Manager monitors key performance indicators, develops action plans to improve results, and maintains compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards. Daily responsibilities include coaching and mentoring team members, resolving escalated customer concerns, and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and high performance. The role also involves community engagement, marketing oversight, and collaboration with senior leadership to align the store with broader business objectives. Qualifications Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution. Experience in automotive dealership operations, with knowledge of sales, F&I, service, and parts processes. Strong business acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and profit-and-loss management. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, staff, and manufacturer representatives. Organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with dealership management systems, CRM tools, and basic office software. Proven track record in customer service excellence and building long-term client relationships. Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in automotive leadership considered. Prior experience as a General Manager, Sales Manager, or similar leadership role in an automotive dealership strongly preferred.
