Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing a diverse patient population including chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic, detox, post-operative, and pediatric patients
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 1:5, collaborating with LPNs and nurse aides on each shift
• Document telemetry strip readings faxed from the ICU monitoring team accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage and monitor patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Float to other units as needed to serve as a tasker or provide an additional set of hands
• Adhere to unit orientation requirements including pharmacy, lab, and EMR system training

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current NIHSS certification (required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Strong Medical Surgical background with experience managing a high variety of patient diagnoses

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS and/or PALS certification
• Experience working in a unit that accepts both adult and pediatric Medical Surgical patients
• Familiarity with telemetry documentation workflows
