Our goal is simple: to make ABA feel more personal, supportive, and collaborative, so families never feel like they have to navigate it alone.\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to clients under the close supervision of a BCBA (or other qualified supervisor, as permitted by funding source and state requirements). The RBT implements individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention procedures, collects accurate data, supports skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals, and collaborates with caregivers and clinical team members to promote meaningful outcomes across settings—including both in-home and in-clinic sessions.\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nPay Rate: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour (Dependent on experience and/or certification(s)).\nTravel Reimbursement: Paid drive time between consecutive clients at the standard IRS rate (currently $0.76/mile).\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDirect Client Services\n\n Deliver 1:1 ABA sessions in client's home and/or in a clinic setting, following the treatment plan and behavior protocols designed by the supervising BCBA.\n Implement skill acquisition programs (e.g., communication, social skills, play, adaptive living skills, tolerating transitions, tolerance for delay/denial, compliance, hygiene routines).\n Implement behavior reduction procedures as written (e.g.,antecedent strategies, reinforcement systems, prompting plans, extinction procedures, de-escalation supports, safety plans).\n Maintain therapeutic rapport and a supportive, trauma-informed approach while holding appropriate boundaries and expectations.\n\n\nData Collection and Documentation\nCollect accurate, objective, and timely data on target behaviors and skill programs using designated data systems. Record session notes that reflect interventions implemented, client responses, progress, and significant events (including any incidents). Communicate clinically relevant observations to the supervising BCBA in a timely manner.\n\nCaregiver Communication and Support\nProvide respectful, professional communication with caregivers, including session logistics, routine coordination, and basic feedback aligned to BCBA direction. Support caregiver training by modeling strategies during sessions and assisting with homework practice as directed by the BCBA (RBT does not design caregiver training content).\n\nProfessionalism, Teamwork, and Training\nAttend supervision meetings, team meetings, and required trainings; demonstrate active participation and skill growth. Receive and implement feedback from supervisors with professionalism and follow-through. Maintain RBT certification requirements, including compliance with the BACB Ethics Code and supervision standards. Coordinate with scheduling/operations staff regarding attendance, travel, and session changes.\n\nSafety and Environment\nFollow client safety procedures, crisis/safety plans, and incident reporting expectations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment in the clinic; follow home-session expectations for professionalism and respect for the family's space. Use universal precautions and follow infection control guidance as required.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's preferred, depending on role requirements).\n Active RBT certification in good standing (or ability to obtain within a specified onboarding timeframe, if hiring as BT-to-RBT track).\n Ability to pass background checks and any payer/state-required screenings.\n Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes (if assigned to in-home cases).\n Ability to use technology for data collection, documentation, and communication (tablet/phone/computer).\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n 6+ months experience implementing ABA programs with children/adolescents/adults with developmental disabilities.\n Experience with challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, SIB, elopement), with demonstrated commitment to safety and compassion.\n CPR/First Aid certification (required within 30 days of hire date).\n\n\nWork Schedule and Expectations\nHours may vary based on client needs and authorizations; includes in-home sessions and/or in-clinic sessions. Evening availability may be required for in-home services. Attendance and punctuality are essential due to the impact on clients and caregiver schedules.\n\nPhysical and Environmental Demands\n\n Ability to sit on the floor, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move quickly as needed for client safety.\n Ability to lift up to 35–50 lbs (as appropriate to client needs and safety requirements).\n Ability to respond to behavioral escalations with approved procedures and maintain professional composure.\n Work may occur in varied home environments, including stairs, pets, smoke exposure, or other common household factors (JJT will work to address known safety concerns).\n\n\nProfessional Standards\nMaintain confidentiality and protect client privacy at all times (HIPAA/PHI, as applicable).
