Position Title Laboratory Support Services Supervisor – Phlebotomy – St. Rita's Medical Job Summary The Laboratory Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision and oversight of lab operations and personnel performing testing and reporting. The supervisor assists leadership with operational and administrative functions that facilitate excellent patient care, maintain laboratory functions, and ensure policies and procedures are feasible, with compliance as a key priority. Essential Functions Hire and onboard top talent to create a diverse, professional workplace. Evaluate competency of all testing personnel and ensure staff maintain competency to perform test procedures and report results promptly, accurately, and proficiently. Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly. Participate in committees, task forces, and improvement teams as defined. Ensure all changes within the laboratory are sufficiently validated before implementation. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Associates degree in Medical Technology or related Science (required). Certifications Phlebotomy certification (preferred, not required). Experience 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (required). 3 years phlebotomy experience (required). Previous experience in a leadership position in a customer service environment (preferred, not required). Experience with EKG (preferred, not required). Skills & Abilities Demonstrates leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, and decision making. Possesses extensive knowledge of clinical practice or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
