Director, Process & Operations Management, Medical and Scientific Affairs (MSA)

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director of Process & Operations Management for Medical and Scientific Affairs within its Orthopaedics division. This role manages portfolio strategy, program delivery, and operational excellence while serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership across global, matrixed teams.
Responsibilities
- Unify business and functional priorities into MSA portfolio; lead intake, prioritization, and stage-gate milestone planning
- Define governance forums, decision rights, and executive operating rhythms across enterprise and regional levels
- Standardize project-management methods, templates, and dashboards while identifying cross-functional risks and dependencies
- Develop balanced scorecard linking scientific quality, delivery speed, compliance, and business value
- Lead resource and capacity planning; partner with Finance and functional leaders on annual planning and forecasts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, health sciences, engineering, business, or related discipline
- Project management certification (PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, or Agile)
- Minimum 10 years progressive experience in Medical, Clinical, or Scientific Affairs in medical device industry
- Minimum 7 years leading programs, projects, portfolios, or PMO functions with complex cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in governance, portfolio prioritization, integrated planning, and executive reporting
- Experience influencing decisions across global matrixed organizations without direct authority
- Working knowledge of medical, clinical, regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements
