About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have Cardiac Progressive Care experience and be comfortable with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5. Previous Charge RN experience preferred. EKG exam required, with two attempts allowed. Description: This role involves providing care to cardiac patients. The focus is on conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias. Responsibilities include pre and post cardiac catheterization care, monitoring for myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement. There is a secondary focus on respiratory issues such as COPD, pneumonia, and Bipap management. The unit cares for adult patients and operates 24/7. Rooms are monitored remotely. Staff will self-schedule using an established system. Candidate must have experience with telemetry and the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration is also required. The role may involve managing chest tubes and performing procedural sedation. Team members will have access to interdisciplinary support and utilize rapid response teams as needed. Weekends and holidays may be part of the schedule, as assigned. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to function in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
