Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or license as a Special Education Teacher
- Proven experience working in special education, including resource or co-taught settings
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to deliver accommodations
- Expertise in middle school English Language Arts curriculum and instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
- Ability to foster a positive, supportive learning environment for diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Co-teach and deliver support in 8th grade ELA classes, collaborating closely with the classroom teacher
- Provide targeted resource instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals and present levels of performance
- Adapt materials and instructional strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Maintain accurate records, document student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
- Partner with families and staff to create a supportive, effective educational experience
- Foster student independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional development
