Head of Corporate Banking Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of Relationship Managers (RMs), providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure they meet their goals. Lead business development efforts to attract and retain high-value corporate clients in the Puerto Rican market. Guide bankers to identify market opportunities and trends in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending to develop innovative banking solutions and stay competitive. Represent the bank at industry events, conferences, and community forums. Oversee the loan pipeline and approval process to ensure timely closing of deals. Approve or recommend credit applications, ensuring they meet the bank's risk appetite and lending policies. Ensure the corporate banking department’s strategic direction aligns with the bank's overall business strategy. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as loan growth, portfolio quality, and profitability. Ensure strict adherence to all internal policies and local and federal banking regulations. Collaborate with the Market President on Corporate Banking team activities. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience: 15+ years of experience in corporate lending and vast experience in a management role. Market Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the domestic market and industry trends. Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining strong client relationships. Sales Acumen: Experience developing and executing sales strategies, including market and competitive analysis, and sales forecasting. Leadership: Strong leader who inspires and motivates teams, fosters a positive culture, delegates effectively, and resolves conflicts. Bilingual: Must be fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal). Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Banking Regulations: Solid understanding of banking regulations from entities such as the OCC, FDIC, FRB, and FFIEC. #J-18808-Ljbffr
