RN MedSurg PCU

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the MedSurg/PCU unit at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care across medical-surgical and progressive care areas. This role requires flexibility to work in various departments as needed, ensuring patient safety, education, and comprehensive documentation. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care, maintain equipment, and adhere to infection control protocols. An active Washington state RN license and experience in MedSurg/PCU nursing are essential, with a commitment to work through the holiday season with minimal time off. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Washington.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Progressive Care Unit nursing.
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and nursing interventions.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and PCU protocols.
• Ability to document accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Competence in infection control, patient safety, and equipment operation.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital or similar rural healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with multiple nursing departments and flexibility to float between units.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS or specialty training in telemetry or progressive care.

Special Considerations:

• Willingness and ability to work through the holiday season with minimal requests for time off (RTO).
• Flexibility to work across different departments as needed.
• Work environment includes MedSurg, PCU, and telemetry monitoring units.

Scheduling:

• Night shift position.
• Shift assignments may require flexibility to cover various departments.
