Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Rochester, NY
Type: Contract | 13 Weeks (First-Time Travelers Accepted)
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 Hours Per Week (3 Shifts/Week) | Rotating Weekends (Approx. 4 Weekend Shifts/Month) | Holidays as Needed

Pay Rate: $71 - $82/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an exciting Travel job in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

• Manage mechanical ventilators and perform weaning protocols.

• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures.

• Perform airway management, including oral/nasal airways and tracheostomy care.

• Administer oxygen therapy, including HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator support.

• Perform suctioning (ETT, NT) and airway clearance techniques.

• Conduct ABG sampling and interpret respiratory status data.

• Monitor and troubleshoot ventilator alarms and respiratory equipment.

• Provide emergency respiratory support in ICU and Emergency Department settings.

• Document patient care accurately in EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

• Active State Respiratory Care License.

• BLS certification.

• Minimum 1 year of experience.

• Strong experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.

• Proficiency with ventilator management and respiratory equipment, including Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60.

• Strong airway management skills, including intubation assist and extubation.

• EPIC charting experience required.

• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

• Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in high-acuity ICU environments.
